All that remains of the Hillside Motel can be seen driving on I-5 through Mt. Vernon, Washington. The motel itself was comprised of military barracks that were trucked over from Whidbey Island in the 1950s. After various improvements were made over the years, the motel was abandoned and eventually burned down, leaving only the sign seen in the photo.
